imbalance through continuous and efforts that constructive and productive.

The thinking of “agriculture is a business” is the core concept of this project, where effective cost is vital component together with the return on investment. The culture of smart and efficient spending must be assimilated and practiced to ensure the success of the project

From many options and opportunities, the cultivation and supply of chili is chosen for the following factors;

The supply of chili suitable for the manufacturing of chili sauce requires systematic approach which produces sustainable produce. These produce must meet all the requirement of quality as well as quantity.
Sustaining the produce is achieved through systematic planting technique which is called fertigation system. Meanwhile, to produce required quantity a system called contract farming involving participants is employed.

OBJECTIVE

Objective of this project is to

1. supply chili to the identified industry/end-user that is highly reputable. These can
be achieved through a systematic approach in cultivation, supply & delivery.
2. help hardcore poor families such as single mother, and those with household
income less than RM 700. This can be achieved through contract farming
involving many participants which will enhance household earnings.

COMPANY PROFILE

GOLDMETRIC ENGINEERING SDN BHD (GOLDMETRIC) is a company wholly owned by bumiputra involving in the cultivation, contract farming, buying, supplying and delivering sustainable high quality and quantity of chili and other vegetables. GOLDMETRIC is equipped with management experience and technical know-how on the chili planting.

Upstream activities in GOLDMETRIC operations are focused on direct engagement with vegetable producers, be this with smallholders or large scale commercial farming facilities. Whilst GOLDMETRIC does directly get involved in the farming production, it is keen to foster long term beneficial partnerships with farmers of any scale through contract farming aimed at rationalizing the supply side of the agricultural industry.

Interacting and sharing our expertise and knowledge with the farming community, we have commenced a pilot project on vegetables namely chili, tomatoes and brinjal at the farm situated in Kampung Subang.

Participating farms and production facilities will also be encouraged to upgrade to
Controlled Environmental Farming (CEF) techniques in the long term to bring them in line with global standards.

mechanism for the development of commercially oriented and long term
partnerships with Malaysia’s agribusinesses. Such ventures will provide
producers with clear definitions of our expectations for the supply of fresh and
safe produce in terms of quality, quantity, type, variety, packaging, grading,
period of delivery whilst and perhaps most importantly in return, provide
producers with certainty of pricing for products produced.

Implementation of Contract Farming is based on concept outlined the pooling of total thinking, energy and human resources from all participants to transfer knowledge and service to help targeted group of low income. Through this approach GOLDMETRIC will provide the technical know-how, expertise, services to all level of participants in all level of development, planning, implementation, management, marketing, monitoring and evaluation.

Output

The cultivation is designed to give output into 3 phases with immediate available supply of 3 tons per month, within 3 months the 2nd Phase will deliver 45 tons per month and within 6 months the 3rd phase would be more than 60 tons per month
The output would be on continuous basis.

Warehousing & Delivery

Collection will be made by GOLDMETRIC at the participants farm.
Collection center near the customer with facilities to hold 12 tons of produce at one time.
Storage is equipped with chill environment to ensure the freshness of produce

CONTRACT FARMING

Participants;

Contract farming aims at providing low income group with alternative source of income
Target group is those having access to idle land either through ownership or renting with the household income of not more than RM 1000 per month or any other individual that state or co-operative sees fit.
Participant is limited to 3000 chili trees with investment of RM20,000 (loan/grant) and one acre land at one time with replanting scheme without cover.

Approach

One year contract (as per attachment) with option for renewal.
Buy back guarantee on all produce
Loan or funds can be arranged for eligible participants through government, cooperative or private funds
All equipment and seeds are provided
Technical training and coaching is provided
Constant visit and monitoring at site to ensure quality
Logistics is provided to ferry all produce to one collection center near the customer.
Replanting after 3 months into the harvesting of the first crops to ensure continuous monthly income (detail as per attachment)

SISTEM FERTIGASI

Tujuan penanaman secara fertigasi ialah untuk mengelakkan tanaman daripada
dijangkiti oleh penyakit akar seperti penyakit Pythium, Fusarium dan penyakit
layu bakteria yang kebanyakannya adalah jenis-jenis penyakit bawaan tanah.
Penyakit lain yang dianggap merbahaya ialah penyakit hawar pucuk dan Antraknos
pada tanaman cili. Bagi membolehkan kaedah ini dilaksanakan, seseorang pengusaha
itu mestilah mempunyai rumah tanaman yang lebih dikenali sebagai Struktur Pelindung
Tanaman (SPT).
